My work
For over twenty years, I have immersed myself in the exploration of urban iconography, nature, and art through the lenses of both analog and digital photography. My creative journey includes the production of short documentaries that reveal the extraordinary in the ordinary, offering fresh perspectives on familiar scenes. My expertise lies in uncovering the subtle beauty of everyday details, turning them into visually compelling narratives.
I am excited to offer my services to clients looking to engage in:
- Custom site-specific projects, providing unique and contextually rich visual experiences
- Comprehensive documentation of art exhibits, capturing the intricate details and essence of each artwork
- Specialized product photography, designed to accentuate the unique attributes of your products
- Promotional video documentaries, creating dynamic and impactful stories that enhance brand visibility
Immerse yourself in my fine art photography portfolio, where urban iconography, nature’s serene landscapes, and captivating art come to life in visually stunning compositions. Consider a range of my work categorized by medium and genre:
- Analog black and white photos of landscapes
- Analog color photos of abstract landscapes
- And digital photos of urban landscapes and museum art
I also invite you to experience my collection of video documentaries, carefully crafted to promote branding narratives for businesses. Consider some examples of my recent work:
- Building as a Birthright is a branding documentary I created about an Olympia-based sustainable building company, ION EcoBuilding. Led by Joseph Becker, ION EcoBuilding educates people about ecologically-sound building materials and processes, helping people appreciate the intersection of the ecosystem and community at an intimate level through hands-on educational work parties.
- Time to Go captures my two-year journey in Spain during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2022) through a unique non-narrated audiovisual journal. Every piece of music, video, and photography presented is a product of my own creative efforts.

My background
One of my earliest childhood memories occurred when I was around the age of four. While I was walking down the sidewalk with my father, I discovered a portal to another reality.
Some people refer to this as an electrical box. I was in awe of what it contained—or, rather, conducted: electricity.
Transfixed in this cosmic current of life, I could feel it scrubbing my bones clean.
I was equally intrigued by its exterior. This pea-green utility box resembled a stellar landscape.
If I looked closer, I could see lacerations from random passersby gouged into its thick paint. These incidental markings had oxidized into a network of rivulets, evocative brush strokes rivaling paintings by Rothko or Newman.
The sound and the image have never left me.
My philosophy
In the realms of words, images, and sounds, I begin all of my work with the same undertow of curiosity and care.
How can curiosity guide me to explore subjects that matter beyond one’s immediate comprehension? And how can this subject be cared for through forms of creative convention?
When it comes to telling stories that move people, success is typically measured by metrics like click-through and conversion rates, engagement and return on investment.
However, I believe that the nuances we often overlook are the portals through which stories grow their most glorious and redemptive wings. It is within these meaningful moments that trust is built, loyalty is nurtured, and a story is solidified.
Sometimes, if we attend to our stories with skillful attention, we can impact minds and hearts for years to come, leaving behind marks for someone else to discover and ponder…
- Engaged
- Compelled
- Renewed
…like a pea-green electric box for a four-year-old boy.
