Todd Gruel is without a doubt the most professional writers I’ve ever worked with. He wrote a large feature on the audio-visual academic research project “Melting Landscapes” which documents the sounds and imagery of a Swiss glacier. While writing the article, Todd Gruel was in constant exchange with me. I was intrigued by his profound research that pays attention to the smallest details without losing sight of the big picture. His holistic approach unites perspectives from multiple disciplines and a variety of voices. He interviewed all the different actors of our project, from the director of our institute to the assistants and the students who participated in the project. He elucidated our project in the most differentiated way. Moreover, as we are not native speakers, he offered his help to enhance our phrasing and communicate our ideas clearly.
His perfectionist approach to research and language finds its ideal supplement in his ability to distill key points from complex circumstances and his professional communication that prevents all possible misunderstandings. His writing style is very clear and accurate, yet it does not lack of poetry and tactility.
On a personal level, it was a real pleasure working with Todd due to his reliable and generous personality. I cannot recommend enough to work with him.
